Chief OPERATING OFFICER & CHIEF Academic Officer, FULLMIND
Progressive school founder, Teach for America alumni, and lifelong educator. Relentless operating and creator of Fullmind’s education branch. Curator and host of a nationally recognized podcast series. Disability advocate.
Hayley Spira-Bauer is an educator at heart, dedicated to expanding access to high-quality learning for all students. With nearly two decades in the field, she started her career through Teach for America and spent formative years in the classroom, teaching kindergarten through 8th grade. Her time as a 5th-grade teacher in Harlem was especially pivotal, as she fostered a love of reading in hundreds of students. This passion for equitable education led her to help found a New York City elementary school and serve as a school leader, mentoring teachers, and shaping instructional excellence across K–8 settings.
Now, as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Academic Officer at Fullmind, Hayley leads initiatives that bring high-impact virtual learning to schools nationwide. She built Fullmind’s Academics team from the ground up, designing research-based frameworks for student success and teacher development. Under her leadership, Fullmind has earned recognition from Johns Hopkins’ Instructional Design Review Process and Cognia, securing accreditation as a Digital Learning Institute.
Beyond her work at Fullmind, Hayley is deeply engaged in the broader education and EdTech community. She advises OKO, serves on the advisory board for Inspiring Educators, and mentors emerging education leaders through Catapult at the University of Pennsylvania and StartEd. She frequently speaks at conferences and is a trusted expert voice on the future of education. She also hosts the Learning Can’t Wait podcast, where she sits down with thought leaders to tackle some of the field’s most urgent challenges.
At home on Long Island, Hayley spends her time with her husband, their two spirited young sons, and their rescue dog, Luna—who, like her, never seems to slow down.
